SOCIOCULTURAL PROGRAMME Royal Tunbridge Wells is a large commercial town and one of the most historic in Kent. It enthralls enthusiasts of 18th century
architecture and its famous street - "The Pantiles" is one of the most joyful European examples of urban architecture.
Modern Tunbridge Wells offers two good theatres and a multi screen cinema, a vast selection of shops, restaurants, pubs, cafés and teashops situated in pleasant streets where the past mingles with the present. Tunbridge Wells is situated in the county of Kent, known as "The Garden of England" for its beautiful rolling countryside in which many castles and places of interest nestle, such as: Penshurst Place, Hever Castle (home of King Henry VIII) Leeds Castle and Chartwell (home of Winston Churchill). If you are feeling a little more active there is a bowling complex, a sports centre, tennis courts and golf courses. We would recommend a one-to-one accompanied visit to one of the above mentioned places of interest, and furthermore, an evening out at one of our surprisingly good local theatres. Depending on your sector we endeavor to include a professional visit; however we cannot promise to always find a suitable match. |
